Heart for Winter Haven and Childhood Homelessness

March 21, 2024

Topic: Homelessness and Housing

Heart for Winter Haven has decided that homelessness in our city must come to an end. Using the Community Solutions model, H4WH has placed ending child homelessness first by the year 2030. We believe that when we house homeless children, we are essentially housing families. H4WH surrounds those in need in our community not with simple relief but with comprehensive case management that does not cost them anything but their time, willingness to change and hard work on the life development "Care Plan" they are given for their particular needs. Since 2020, H4WH has prevented 560 city of Winter Haven families facing eviction to avoid it, either with keeping them in their homes or finding rapid rehousing in time to avoid homeless time. The number of families helped across Polk County is over 900. Please prayerfully consider joining us in this work of making sure every child does not just have a steady roof over their head, but to enjoy the peace and security of being in a real home!
